There are two forms of lion dance of Zhuang Nationality in Tianyang County: ground lion dance and high altitude lion dance. The ground lion dance belongs to the Wenpai lion dance, which mainly performs the lion's tickling, licking, rolling, burrowing, shaking and other actions on the ground, showing the lion's lively and lovely look and playful character. Wen style lion dance is usually used in festivals, new year's greetings, gatherings, weddings, entertainment and other festive activities. The representative programs of Tianyang Zhuang's ground lion dance include "group of lions welcome guests", "Caiqing's new year's greetings", "Fenghuang Tai's Lion skills" and "young lion playing ball".

The high altitude lion dance belongs to the Wu School of lion dance, which is mainly based on the high platform lion dance. Its main feature is the integration of martial arts and acrobatics into the lion dance movements, performing high, difficult, startling, dangerous and beautiful lion dance movements. The representative programs of Tianyang Zhuang's high altitude lion dance include "the skill of the lion at the point of the sword", "the lion on Jinshan", "the lion over the Overpass", "the flying lion on the high stake" and "the heroic wind of the Golden Lion".
