Introduction to lion dance (Tengxian lion dance)

Tengxian lion dance is popular in Tengxian of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Tengxian county is located in the southeast of Guangxi, with Cangwu in the East, Rongxian in the south, Pingnan in the West and Mengshan in the north. It is 86 km wide from east to west and 112 km long from north to south, with a total land area of 3946 square kilometers. It is known as "the land of lion dance". Tengxian lion dance can be divided into two types: one is "Caiqing lion", which focuses on the performance of ground skills; the other is "Gaozhuang lion", which focuses on the performance of pile skills. Whether it is Caiqing lion or Gaozhuang lion, it has its own unique style in the form of expression, which is loved by the local people.
