Introduction to Dong year:
Applicant: Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province
The year of Dong is a traditional festival for Dong people to thank their ancestors for their blessing. It is also a festival for Dong People's family reunion and harvest celebration. At the same time, it is also a festival for Dong People's cultural display. It is mainly distributed in such Dong areas as Leli 72 village and zhaihao 48 village in the northwest of Rongjiang.
As a traditional national festival of the Dong family, the year of Dong is basically held in turn according to the traditional regulations in the villages where the Dong family live, which has a wide range of mass and folk heritage. The most important ceremony of the year of Dong is "Dousha" (the song of ancestor worship). The purpose of "Dousha" is not only to sacrifice ancestors, but also a form for the elderly to inherit the excellent traditional culture of the nation. No matter children, adults or young people at the beginning of their marriage, the elderly should educate the next generation to behave themselves, distinguish right from wrong, be diligent and thrifty, respect the old and love the young, etc.
In the year of Dong, the national culture was inherited and carried forward in the form of village worship and various cultural activities.
As a traditional festival of the Dong family, the year of Dong carries a lot of information about the history and culture of the nation, which plays an irreplaceable role in the study of the history and culture of the Dong family and the history of the region.
