It is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine and has a history of more than 3000 years. As early as the Zhou Dynasty, there was a special person in charge of the treatment of orthopedic diseases. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, the basic theory and technology were formed and passed down from generation to generation. For example, there are a large number of records in elbow back-up emergency prescription, xianshou Lishang Dipsacus secret prescription, Qianjin Yaofang and yizongjinjian.

In the long-term medical practice, TCM orthopedics has formed a unique theoretical system and complete treatment principles and methods, and accumulated rich experience.
