Liling underglaze five color porcelain firing skills introduction:
Applicant: Liling City, Hunan Province
Underglaze five color porcelain is an original skill in Liling, Hunan Province, with a long history. In the Tang Dynasty, the Tongguan kiln near Changsha had underglaze green and brown patterns of flowers and birds. Liling underglaze five color porcelain from raw materials to finished products to go through nearly 100 processes, all by hand. The fillers, glazes and pigments are made of local high-quality raw materials. The self-made underglaze pigment is used in the painting, and the double hook water filling technique is used to dissolve the picture under the glaze, making it smooth and bright, with a full sense of moisture. The glaze covering the decorative patterns is made of glass after being fired at high temperature, which makes it more lustrous and smooth. The pigment used in underglaze five color porcelain uses metal oxide as colorant. The flux does not contain lead, cadmium and other toxic substances, and is acid-base resistant. The blank must be sintered at 800 ℃ after forming to improve the strength of the blank. After the painting of the blank is finished, the picture is covered with spray glaze, and then the finished product is fired at 1350 ℃ - 1410 ℃ to make the colorful picture appear from the glaze layer. The process of underglaze cobalt oxide coloring was widely used in later blue and white porcelain.
Since modern times, Liling underglaze five color porcelain has won many awards at home and abroad for its unique technology and excellent quality. In 1909, he won the first-class gold medal at the "Wuhan Industry Promotion Award" meeting; in 1910, he won the first-class gold medal at the "Nanyang Industry Promotion Association"; in 1912, he won the best award at the "Durang exposition in Italy"; in 1915, he won the gold medal at the "Panama Pacific Expo" held in San Francisco. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Liling underglaze five color porcelain has won gold and silver awards for many times. It has been selected as a special porcelain for important places such as Zhongnanhai and the Great Hall of the people, and has been presented to foreign heads of state as a national gift for many times.
