Applicant: yuepuhu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
"Qilixi" in modern Uyghur language means "fight, contest", which is the remains of the Uyghur ancestors' martial arts, strong physique, respect for heroes and other folk traditions.
Qielixi is a traditional sports, mainly distributed in Xinjiang Hotan, Aksu, Turpan, Kashgar yuepuhu County, Yingjisha County, Maigaiti County, Bachu county and other Uygur inhabited areas. Uygur people are mainly engaged in planting and breeding. They live a simple life. Every spring, leisure time and major festivals, they spontaneously organize and carry out colorful cultural and sports activities in the fields, farmers' homes and beaches.
Most of Qiexi of Uygur people are held in the sand, which can also be said to be mass wrestling activities in the desert. When it comes to the important and traditional guerbang Festival and Rouzi Festival, the county has to hold activities in the West. The local people also like to watch wrestling competitions, and the audience often ranges from thousands to tens of thousands. Qialixi, a Uygur nationality in yuepuhu County, is a wrestling method different from other nationalities. They do not have fixed wrestling clothes. They all compete barefoot and wear loose belts. The two sides first grasp each other's belts before they start the competition. In the competition, there is no age and weight grade, choose opponents voluntarily. In wrestling, you can use the movements of carrying, hooking and tripping to make the opponent fall (shoulder blade landing, side body landing or hip landing) to win.
It is of great value to study the development history of Uygur and traditional excellent culture and sports. At present, most of the people who participate in qilixi are older and lack of successors.
