About Leizhou song:
Applicant: Leizhou City, Guangdong Province
Leizhou songs are mainly popular in ten counties (cities) of Leizhou Peninsula, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, where Leizhou dialect (belonging to Leizhou branch of Minnan language system) is used. It records the historical situation of the birth, migration, labor and survival of Leizhou people, which has been seen in historical books in Song Dynasty. Among them, the "girl song" has been very popular since the Ming Dynasty, while the written competition song has continued since the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Now there are still a large number of Leizhou songs, anthologies, song lists, girl songs and Lei scripts.
Leizhou songs have four sentences and seven words in each sentence. The last words of the first, second and fourth sentences have Leizhou rhyme. The fourth word of the second and fourth sentences is Yang Ping Sheng. The rhyme is close to seven Jue, which is catchy. It also uses a lot of rhetorical forms such as metaphor, exaggeration and pun. It has strict structure, harmonious tone and beautiful rhythm. Leizhou song, a wonderful work of Southern art, is the crystallization of the wisdom of Leizhou people. It provides valuable information for the study and understanding of Leizhou politics, economy, culture and human environment.
Affected by the change of life style, the living inheritance environment of Leizhou songs is gradually losing, and it is urgent to take measures to protect it.
