Han Opera is one of the ancient operas in China. Originally known as "Waijiang opera", Guangdong Han Opera entered eastern Guangdong during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty and spread to neighboring areas with Chaozhou as the center. Its artistic style is different from that of Hubei Han Opera. To show the difference, it was named "Guangdong Han Opera" in 1956. Guangdong Han Opera House was established in 1959. It is located in Meizhou City, northeast of Guangdong Province. The singing music of Guangdong Han Opera includes "Erhuang", "xipi", "Daban" and other tunes, with "xipi" and "Erhuang" as the main tunes. In addition, there are Kunqu Opera, folk minor and a small number of Bangzi tunes. The roles of Guangdong Han Opera are divided into seven trades: Sheng, Dan, Chou, Gong, Po, Wujing and Hongjing. The singing of each trade has obvious characteristics. The stage language follows "Zhongzhou rhyme" and Putonghua. The singing, reading, doing and playing procedures are very rich. There are about 800 kinds of traditional operas of Han Opera in Guangdong.
