Introduction to the old tune (Baoding old tune)
Applicant: Baoding City, Hebei Province
Baoding laodiao, also known as "laodiao Bangzi", is a kind of local opera popular in Baoding area of Hebei Province. It was the folk song "Hexi Diao" sung in Rural flower fairs around Baiyangdian. It began to take shape in Daoguang and Xianfeng years of Qing Dynasty. In the early days, laodiao was mainly composed of Sheng and Jing, and both of them sang laoshengdiao, so it was called "laodiao".
Baoding old tune mostly describes the legendary stories of emperors, generals and wild heroes. First, the repertoire is adapted from the local popular wooden drum repertoire, such as "Yang Jiajiang", "Hu Jiajiang", etc.; second, it is transplanted from the high tune repertoire, such as "fighting Qipan Street", "Shanhaiguan", "please Qingbing", etc.
The old tune has a strong narrative style, simple and passionate style, vigorous and generous, rough and high pitched, which gives people a deep and dignified feeling, and shows the regional characteristics of Yan and Zhao. The old tune aria belongs to banqiang style. The basic melody is composed of up and down sentences with similar structure and the same final sound. Several up and down sentences are repeated to form aria. Libretto is a rap style, which is quite similar to Dagu CI.
There are many roles in Laosheng, laowai, Xiaosheng, wusheng, Qingyi, Huadan, daomadian, laodan, Caidan, Hualian, Chou and so on. His performance is cordial and simple, natural and fluent, and exudes a strong local flavor.
Baoding old tune has obvious regional characteristics and distinctive artistic style, which has important reference value for the study of local history and culture, folk customs and even the origin, formation and development of Chinese local opera.
