Pingju is one of the local operas that have grown rapidly, spread widely and have great influence in China in the past hundred years. Originated in Tangshan area of Hebei Province, popular in Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin and other North China and northeast provinces.
Pingju is good at singing, with clear singing, smooth and natural melody, natural and simple performance, healthy movements, beautiful posture, strong flavor of life and broad mass base. There are more than 230 traditional plays, most of which are based on folk stories, current events, ancient and modern novels, etc. His representative works include flowers as a medium, beating golden branches, yutangchun, Dou'e's injustice, Yang Sanjie's complaint, etc.
The first troupe of Shijiazhuang Pingju theater was a private troupe. Shijiazhuang was liberated on November 12, 1947. A few days later, under the leadership of the military control commission, Yihe Opera Society was reorganized and its performance has been restored. The troupe is one of the earliest and influential opera troupes in China.
