Yuxian Yangko, also known as "Yuzhou Bangzi" and "Yuju", originated in Yuxian County, is popular in Zhangjiakou, northern Shanxi and some counties of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a kind of opera popular among the people in the popular areas. Yuxian Yangko was sung with "Xun Tiao" (folk song) in the early stage, mainly in "two small" (Xiaosheng, Xiaodan) or "three small" (Xiaosheng, Xiaodan, clown) plays, often performed in rural community fire.

Yuxian Yangko is deeply influenced by Shanxi Bangzi. It not only absorbs the paodai opera of Bangzi, but also uses the music system of Bangzi for reference, forming various types of Banzi opera evolved from Bangzi opera. Yuxian Yangko has a complete range of roles, including bonus (Laosheng), black (dahualian, Erhualian), Sheng, Dan, Chou and so on. Yuxian dialect is used in singing, and the combination of true and false voice is often used. Xiao Sheng and Dan can sing "Xun Diao", while "Hong" seldom sings "Xun Diao", while "Hei" does not sing "Xun Diao". The structure of Bangzi opera is almost the same except that "Hei" has a specific opera. In the long-term stage practice, Yuxian Yangko has accumulated more than 200 kinds of performance repertoire, among which Huilong Pavilion and Da Wa can are representatives.

At present, Yuxian Yangko is facing great survival difficulties. The diversification of art forms has caused the shrinkage of the performance market and reduced the number of performance groups. At the same time, many old artists have died, and many young people are reluctant to learn this kind of art, which has a relatively old tune and program. In this situation, Yuxian Yangko inheritance lack of people, on the verge of extinction, urgent need to rescue and protect.
