Established in December 2017, Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Three Gorges life") is a national insurance financial institution supported by Chongqing municipal Party committee and government and approved by the insurance regulatory authority of the State Council. It is the first Chinese funded life insurance company headquartered in Chongqing.

The registered capital of the company is 1 billion yuan. Shareholders include Chongqing Yufu capital operation group Co., Ltd., Chongqing High Tech Group Co., Ltd., new Hualian Holding Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Huaxi Tongcheng Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd., Chongqing Dima Industry Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Zhongke construction (Group) Co., Ltd.

Nature of Business

The business scope includes general insurance (including life insurance and annuity insurance), health insurance, accidental injury insurance and bonus insurance; reinsurance business of the above businesses; insurance fund utilization business permitted by national laws and regulations; other businesses approved by the insurance regulatory authority of the State Council.

Company development

Three Gorges life started to apply for preparation in January 2011, obtained the preparation permission of China Insurance Regulatory Commission on March 23, 2016, and approved to open on December 15, 2017.

On March 23, 2016, it obtained the license of China Insurance Regulatory Commission to prepare for the establishment of Three Gorges life insurance (CIRC license [2017] No. 1421). Li Jiming plans to be the chairman of the company.

On January 22, 2017, the founding meeting and the first general meeting of shareholders of Three Gorges life were held in Chongqing Jinke hotel. This marks the birth of China's first insurance company characterized by immigration insurance in Chongqing.

On December 15, 2017, Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. was approved by China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) for approval of the opening of Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (CIRC license [2017] No. 1421) and license for legal person of insurance company.

On January 24, 2018, Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. held a grand opening ceremony in Chongqing Neptune technology building. On behalf of the shareholders, Li Jianming, chairman of Chongqing Yufu group, and Li Jiming, proposed chairman of Three Gorges life, unveiled the brand of Three Gorges life.

On August 7, 2018, the green finance launching and strategic cooperation signing ceremony of Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Chongqing Branch of China Post Group Corporation and Chongqing Branch of Postal Savings Bank of China was successfully held.

On August 29, 2018, Chongqing Branch of Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. was officially established.

As a national insurance corporation headquartered in Chongqing, Three Gorges Life Insurance Co., Ltd. is committed to building China's first insurance company with the characteristics of immigration insurance. It plans to form a small financial and insurance group with initial scale in 10 years, and eventually become a financial holding group.
