Zhoushi town

Zhoushi town is subordinate to Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. It is located in the north of Kunshan City. It is located at the junction of Kunshan, Taicang and Changshu. It is a combination of Zhoushi, Xinzhen and Luyang. The southern part of the town is only one river away from the old urban area of Kunshan and the national Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the western part is connected with the national high tech Industrial Development Zone of Kunshan. Nearly half of the town is an important part of the central urban area of Kunshan.

In June 1983, the government and society were divided and rebuilt into Zhoushi township. On September 28, 1989, Kunshan county was withdrawn to build a city. On November 20, 1990, the whole city implemented the system of town governing village, and Zhoushi city was withdrawn from township to build a town, which is still under the jurisdiction of Kunshan City. in April 2000, it merged with the original new town and became the new Zhoushi town. In December 2003, the administrative division of the whole city was adjusted and Zhoushi town was merged with six villages in Luyang town.
