Dashu town

Daxu town is located in the east of Tongshan District of Xuzhou City. The policy of Jiangsu Provincial People's government is inclined to support and encourage the development of Donglonghai industrial belt. It is a comprehensive central town of Xuzhou City. In 2021, the construction of Xu Lian high-speed railway Daxu south station will be included in the key urban construction projects of Xuzhou.

Historical evolution

Daxu commune was established in 1958 and Taishan commune was established in 1960. In 1983, it was changed into Daxu Township and Taishan Township respectively. In 1996, Daxu removed the township and built a town. In 1996, Daxu town covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 33000. It governs 19 administrative villages including Daxu, Liulu, Jingji, xutai, magou, tuanbu, Houwang, Huanglou, Liwa, Zhumiao, Yaozhuang, Zhangwa, Dongtan, Xitan, Linhe, Zhuzhuang, shaolou, Yuehai and Xiaoyue. Taishan Township covers an area of 70 square kilometers and has a population of 38000. It governs Taishan, Mazhuang, Jiushan, Hexi, Qingshan and Banshan There are 18 administrative villages, namely, Qiao, Liushan, shaoqiao, Hengshan, Liyuan, Jiancheng, Miaofu, shazhuang, Zhengmiao, fangting, Dawu, Xiaodun and Daliu. In April 2000, Taishan town was abolished and merged into Daxu town. The town covers an area of 129.1 square kilometers and has a population of 72200. It governs 37 administrative villages and the town government is located in Daxu village. In April 2007, it moved to Houwang village, with 23 villager committees, 96 natural villages and 144 villager groups.

In 2017, it had a population of 81600 and an area of 129.17 square kilometers.

Zhuzhuang martyrs cemetery is located in Zhuzhuang village, Daxu Town, Tongshan District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 1200 square meters. Surrounded by green pines and cypresses, the cemetery consists of a main stele, two stele pavilions, a cemetery for unknown martyrs and 35 steles for martyrs who died in various revolutionary historical periods. The main stele is 8 meters long, and the pedestal is 1.3 meters long. It is made of cement. The main stele is inscribed by Jiang Weiqing, former Secretary of Jiangsu provincial Party committee.
