Changlu Street

Changlu street is located in the northern suburb of Nanjing City, adjacent to Chuhe River in the East and Yangtze River in the south, with a total area of 90.49 square kilometers and a total population of 52000 (2020). Yangzi Petrochemical Company, a national large-scale petrochemical enterprise, is located in Changlu street. At the same time, the town is close to Nanjing Chemical Industry (Group) company, Nanjing Iron and steel plant, Nanjing thermal power plant, Huaneng Power Plant and other large enterprises, so it is known as "village in the city". Changlu has mountains and polders, beautiful scenery, and a natural market town, which is divided into five neighborhood committees and five administrative villages. It has 18300 mu of arable land, 2750 mu of water surface and 1500 mu of mountain forest.

Changlu is an ancient town of Jiangbei in Nanjing, named after Changlu temple. Although the Changlu Chongfu temple, which was built in the Liang Dynasty, is not as fragrant as it was then, the legend of "crossing the river with a reed" is still spreading among the people. The most famous specialty of Changlu is Changlu salted duck, which is unique in China.

History and culture

With a long history of civilization, Changlu is the site of Chongfu temple, a famous ancient temple in Jiangbei of Liang Dynasty. According to historical records, in 527 ad, the Dharma patriarch once "crossed the river with a reed, so he built Changlu temple.". The temple is far away from the three Qixia temples in the south of the Yangtze River. Changlu once attracted many literati to visit and write poems. There are many excellent works, such as Li Bai's "sending Dangtu Shaofu to Changlu", Wang Anshi's "Changlu Temple" in the Song Dynasty, Su Shi's "seeing Changlu Zen master (three unique)" and so on. The two ancient ginkgo trees in the temple, though more than a thousand years old, are still in great shape, with luxuriant branches and leaves and abundant fruits.
