Yao (Y à o) Xian (Xi à n) Township belongs to Huanglong County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the central mountainous area of Huanglong County, adjacent to Getai Township in the East, Shibao town in the south, huaibai town in Luochuan County in the West and wazijie town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 33.1 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 24.4 km, with a total area of 482.16 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

In Qing Dynasty Yongzheng's Shaanxi Tongzhi, Sanlang wanted to be dangerous.

In 1941, Ren'ai township was set up for Huanglong.

In 1948, it was changed into the Sixth District of Huanglong county.

In 1958, Kangle commune was established; in November of the same year, the county system was abolished and Luochuan County was assigned.

In the afternoon of 1961, the county system was restored and Yaohu commune was established.

In 1984, the township was set up.

In 1996, it has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages.

In July 2002, shengjunmiao Village (5 villager groups) under the jurisdiction of wazijie town was assigned to Yaohu township.
