Huamu Street

Huamu street is located in the administrative and cultural center of Pudong New Area in Shanghai, with Yunshan road and Yunjian road in the northeast and Jinqiao town in the border; Yanggao Road in the northwest and Yangjing street and Tangqiao street in the border; Beicai town in the South and Zhangjiang Town in the East, adjacent to Tangchen Golf course and Zhangjiang High Tech Park. Huamu street, formerly known as Huamu Town, was formed by the merging of Yanqiao, Huamu and Qinyang towns, which were built after two times of "removing two and building one", with a total area of 20.93 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

The name of flowers and trees comes from the long history of planting flowers and trees. It was originally built by a wealthy businessman surnamed Ling in the Qing Dynasty. Huamu Township belongs to Changren township of Huating County in the Tang and Song Dynasties, Changren township of Shanghai county in the 29th year of Yuan Dynasty (1292), and Nanhui County in the third year of Yongzheng Dynasty (1725), which is under the jurisdiction of Beicai township of Zhangjiang District of Nanhui County. In June 1950, Nanhui County was designated as Chuansha county. In May 1959, the Linjia people's commune was established. In September of the same year, it was renamed Huamu people's commune. Since then, the name "Hua Mu" has appeared. The township was established in 1984 and the town was established in 1995. In 1997, it covers an area of 12.6 square kilometers and has a population of 23000. It has jurisdiction over nine village committees and one neighborhood committee, including Longwangmiao, Caijia, Huamu, longgou, Panqiao, Tongle, qinnong, Jiegou and Jianguo. In 2000, Huamu town and Yanqiao town were abolished and a new Huamu town was established. In 2001, Qinyang town and Huamu town were abolished and a new Huamu town was established. On July 17, 2006, with the approval of Shanghai municipal government, Huamu town was abolished and Huamu street was established. Huamu market town, formerly known as Longwangmiao Town, is the seat of the party and government organs in yuanhuamu Township, which is the street facing north and south. Yujiabang and xiantangbang meet in the northeast of the township and reach Huangpu River via Bailianjing in the West. There are paper machinery factory, health center, Central Primary School and other units in the town, and Shanghai United Chemical Factory, Huaihai pharmaceutical factory and other municipal factories in the west of the town. In recent years, a new commercial street has been built in the east of the old street. The gulongwang temple was built in the south of the town in 1959.
