Jiantang Town, belonging to Linkou County, Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northwest of Linkou county. It is connected with ancient towns in the southeast, Lianhua town in the southwest, SANDAOTONG town in the west, Diaoling town in the north and dashizhan town in Boli County in the northeast. The town government is located in Beixing village. The area is 702.99 square kilometers.

In 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 21065. As of October 2019, Jiantang town has 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.

In 2018, Jiantang town has one industrial enterprise and 60 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to the Fifth District of Yilan County (Diaoling District), and later to Xinglong Village.

In January 1947, Diaoling county was set up as a new Tang district.

In January 1949, Diaoling county was removed and Jiantang district was transferred to Linkou county and renamed the seventh district.

In 1956, Tang township was rebuilt.

In 1958, the township changed into a commune.

In 1984, the commune was transformed into a township.

On November 7, 2016, the township was removed to build a town.

Jiantang town is located in the middle reaches of wusihun River in the northwest of Linkou county and the north of Guokui mountain. The area is 702.99 square kilometers.

Jiantang town is located in the mountain area of Guokui mountain, the terrain inclines from southeast to northwest. The north and south sides are relatively high, and the two banks of wusihun River in the middle are relatively low. It is a valley plain, and the whole town has a basin topography.
