Wusu town

Wusu Town, belonging to Fuyuan City, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the east of Fuyuan City, 134 ° 12 ′ 20 ″ E and 48 ° 15 ′ 29 ″ n.

On the other side of Wusu town is Russia, with a long history and rich tourism resources. It is also the largest salmon farm in China.

Historical evolution

During the Qing Dynasty, Wusu town was one of the three important towns in Wusuli River. There were nine big business houses, such as fuyuanmao and renzhongli, and there were police stations and tax collection stations. The influx of Koreans and Russians once made this commercial town lively and famous.

During the period of the Republic of China, Wusu town had 9 business houses such as fuyuanmao, more than 10 grocery stores, many smoking houses and brothels, and a post office with more than 1500 people. The goods were quite rich, mainly barter trade with the Russians on the other side, and the buildings were mostly Russian style.

After 1920, successive years of war and banditry forced the town residents to go far away. The former glory of the major trading houses is also like falling flowers and flowing water.

At 1:00 p.m. on September 6, 1929, the Soviet army launched an all-round attack on Wusu town. Under the command of Guo Zhankui, the adjutant of the battalion, the officers and soldiers of the 7th and 8th companies of the 2nd Battalion of the 42nd regiment of the 9th brigade of the Northeast Chinese Army rose up to resist. In the evening, Wusu town was lost because of being outnumbered, and more than 100 Chinese defenders were killed. The town of Wusu was in ruins under the Soviet artillery fire.

At the beginning of the founding of new China, Wusu town had a street about 500 meters long from north to South and more than 100 meters wide from east to west. It was composed of six factories. There is only one family and three people living in this town. In fact, there used to be only one male resident in this town. Later, a girl married the resident, so that there was only one family here. But now the family has left Wusu town. There's only one post and hotel. Wusu town is the smallest "town" in China and the smallest town in the world.

On January 11, 2013, the Heilongjiang provincial government held a special meeting on the adjustment of administrative divisions and agreed to change the name of Zhuoji town in Fuyuan County to Wusu town. After the name change, the administrative region, subordinate relationship and the residence of the town government will remain unchanged. So far, Wusu town is no longer the smallest town in China.

In 2018, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the new establishment of heixiazidao town in Fuyuan City, putting Nangang village, which was originally Wusu Town, under the jurisdiction of heixiazidao town.

It is the fishing point of Fuyuan city's fishery administration planning. Wusuli River near Wusu town is a famous salmon fishing ground in China, known as "golden net Beach". More than 90% of the salmon in Heilongjiang Province are produced here.

Every autumn around Bailu, fishermen gather from all directions and come to this area to fish. The town is also full of staff of the county aquatic products company and traders who come to buy salmon. The quiet and lonely scene of the town is changed. The sound of the machine is booming, people are happy with the fish, and the town is very lively and warm.

However, as soon as the fishing season passed, the town regained its tranquility. Except for the soldiers at the sentry post, there was only one resident left. They are not lonely, because tourists and collectors often come and enjoy their company. Chen Yunhe, a poet and writer, is one of them. He wrote the praise poem "the first sentinel of the hero in the East", and the famous sentence "every day represents the motherland and welcomes the dawn first" is attractive. Zhuoji Hezhe village in Wusu town is the settlement of Hezhe ethnic group in China. All the men, women and children of Hezhe ethnic group are good at fishing.

Hero's first sentinel in the East

Wusu town post, built in 1962, is located on the Bank of Wusuli River, 48.2 N and 134.4 E. Wusu town is a heroic town. In 1929, after the outbreak of the Zhongdong road incident, more than 100 soldiers of the Northeast Army died here to defend Wusu town. In 1984, Hu Yaobang wrote "the hero's first outpost in the East" for Wusu town and frontier soldiers, and "the first outpost in the East" became famous in the world.

To commemorate Hu Yaobang's praise and encouragement to the army and people in the border areas, the monument of "the first sentinel of heroes in the East" was built in 1986. The body of the stele is dark green marble, 2.2 meters high, 4.8 meters wide and 0.4 meters thick. The base of the stele is divided into two layers, and the pedestal is made of bluestone. Facing the East, the inscription of General Secretary Hu Yaobang "the first sentinel of heroes in the East" is written on the front, and the inscription of Governor Chen Lei on the back: "Zhenguo defends eastern Xinjiang, the sun and moon of China are long, Wusu is strong, and the old fortress is like gold.".

The current sentry post was built in June 2005. The "boat" shape designed by Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Design Institute seems to be sailing. It has beautiful appearance and profound implication. The construction area is 329 square meters, the capital is more than 600000 yuan, and the internal facilities are perfect. In the two barracks, six sets of the only and best beds in the whole regiment were directly distributed by the military region. The storage room was well ventilated, the study room was equipped with new tables and chairs, the activity room was equipped with new billiards tables and table tennis tables, and the monitoring room was equipped with advanced monitoring equipment, so as to "see clearly during the day and see clearly at night". The cooking utensils in the cooking class were all electrified, equipped with liquefier, induction cooker, microwave oven and eliminator Poison cabinet, electric freezer. There are also high-grade toilets in the room, which solves the problem that it is difficult for the officers and soldiers to go to the toilet outside in winter. The room is also equipped with geothermal, so that the room always maintains a suitable temperature in winter.

In August 2005, with the help of Jiamusi municipal government and higher-level leading organs, Hu Yaobang, who was then general secretary of the CPC Central Committee in August 1984, personally inscribed the monument at Sanjiangkou as "the first Oriental outpost of heroes". In addition, the post also has a direct connection with the Central People's broadcasting station, cable TV, a weather station, regular buses and air conditioning.
