Halahai Township

Halahai Township, located in the west of Songnen Plain, is located in the northeast of Longjiang County. It is adjacent to Halahai naval horse farm in the East and meilisdaur District in the south, 21 kilometers away from the county seat of Longjiang County. The township government is located in Hongqi village. The total area of Hara Hai township is 340.94 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of harai Hai township was 20903.

In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in Halahai Township, including one above scale and 44 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

During the period of the Republic of China, Halahai was under the jurisdiction of the third district of Longjiang County.

After the fall of Northeast China, wenguda village was established in April 1938.

In the 35th year of the Republic of China (June 1946), it was subordinate to wenguda district.

In 1948, it was transferred to the seventh district.

It was put under the jurisdiction of the first district in 1954.

In March 1956, the village was divided into townships and Dakeng township was set up.

In June 1958, wenguda township was merged into dadankeng township. In September of the same year, it was renamed Jubao people's commune.

In 1968, it was changed to red flag commune. In April 1970, the name of Jubao commune was restored. In 1979, it was changed to Halahai commune.

In May 1984, it was changed into HaLaHai township.

In 2019, Halahai Township governs eight administrative villages: Hongqi village, wenguda village, sankeshu village, Jubao village, lianjiagang village, Hongguang Village, Dongxing village and Sili village. Halahai Township People's government is located in Hongqi village.

HaLaHai township is located in the northeast of Longjiang County, adjacent to Halahai naval horse farm in the East, Merris District in the south, Longjiang Town in the west, and Zhongxing township of Gannan County across Halahai wetland in the north. The total administrative area is 340.94 square kilometers.

HaLaHai township is high in the West and low in the East, high in the north and low in the south. The terrain is characterized by low-lying and easy waterlogging. It is narrow from east to west and slightly narrow from north to south. The hills of Xili and huanyangshu in the West are the remnant of Daxinganling, and the plains in the East.
