Dunhua Forestry Bureau, located in Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is an old forest industry enterprise integrating forest cultivation, timber production and resource development.

Organization Profile

On September 3, 1957, with the approval of the Ministry of forest industry, the Preparatory Office of Dunhua Forest Industry Bureau began to set up. On July 1, 1958, the first forest timber truck left Mudan construction area and arrived at Yuejin station, marking the official production of Dunhua Forest Industry Bureau. During the 30 years from 1958 to 1988, Dunhua forestry bureau produced 107.93 million cubic meters of commercial timber, 29.83 million cubic meters of sawn timber, 260000 cubic meters of fiberboard, 10021 tons of wood rosin, 9106 hectares of reforestation, and the total industrial output value reached 1.18 billion yuan. Dunhua Forestry Bureau has become a major profit and tax payer in the same industry in provinces and prefectures. It has effectively supported the country's economic construction. By the end of 1988, Dunhua forestry bureau had a total operating area of 211814 hectares and a total timber stock of 29.73 million cubic meters. There are 72 affiliated grass-roots units with more than 21000 employees and a total population of nearly 50000.
