History of construction

Baoshou town is named because the town government is located in Baoshou village.

In 1906, it belonged to Yushu hall.

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to eight districts of Heilinzi. During the Japanese puppet period, Baoshou village was set up. In 1945, it belonged to nine districts.

In 1958, Baoshou village was transformed into Baoshou commune.

In 1983, Baoshou commune was changed into Baoshou township.

In 1990, Baoshou township was replaced by Baoshou town.
