In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Anton's Prefecture, the governor of Liaocheng Prefecture.
In Jin Dynasty, it belonged to luoliaoyang county and Shicheng County of Tokyo.
In the Ming Dynasty, the capital division of Liaodong was changed to be subordinate to the chief envoy division of Shandong.
In 1910, there were 21 townships in Liaoyang Prefecture, and the fifth township was in Yantai.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the Prefecture was changed into a county, and the county was divided into districts, and the territory was the second district (in Yantai, Dalu).
