Xiahe Township

Xiahe Township, subordinate to Fushun County, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, is located in the southeast of Fushun County, adjacent to Jiubing Township in the southeast, Pianling township of Benxi Manchu Autonomous County in Benxi City in the south, and Shiwen town in the West and North. It covers an area of 125.8 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 8784 people had registered residence in Xia he township.

In October 1956, Xiahe area was assigned to Benxi county. In October 1957, it was transferred back to Fushun City. In October 1958, Funan district established Hongwei commune, which belonged to its own territory and was later incorporated into the rescue commune. In April 1962, Xiahe commune was established after it was separated from Jiubing commune. In September 1983, Xiahe commune was transformed into Xiahe township. As of June 2020, Xiahe township has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Xiahe village.

In 2018, Xiahe township has one industrial enterprise and 16 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In 1945, Xiahe belonged to two police stations, namely, Gelao police station and mazuan police station.

In the 35th year of the Republic of China (1946), Ge Laoqu was changed into Ge Laoxiang.

In October 1948, Fushun was liberated, and the county people's government took over Ge Laoxiang and established Ge Laoqu district government, which established nine villages in Xiahe area.

From 1952 to 1954, mutual aid groups and junior associations were established.

In 1954, Xiahe area was assigned to Funan district.

In 1956, Xiahe established two advanced agricultural cooperatives, Limin and forest.

In October 1956, Xiahe area was assigned to Benxi county.

In October 1957, it was transferred back to Fushun City.
