Gaotuo town

Gaotuo Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Haicheng City, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, is located in the northwest of Haicheng City. It faces Tengao town across Taizi River in the East, Wenxiang town in the south, Tai'an County across Hun River in the West and Liaoyang County in the north, with an administrative area of 59.3 square kilometers.

In 1984, Wenxiang was separated to build a town. By the end of 2018, the population of Gao Tuo Town registered residence was 21081. As of June 2020, Gaotuo town has 11 administrative villages.

In 2011, the total financial revenue of Gaotuo town was 20 million yuan, an increase of 20% over the previous year. The local fiscal revenue was 12 million yuan, an increase of 19% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 18 industrial enterprises in Gaotuo Town, including one above scale and 51 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

By the end of 2011, Gaotuo town had 11 administrative villages: Gaotuo, sangshu, Zhangfang, Sandao, Bamian, wangtuo, Xihu, Xiaoma, shangkan, Likou and Jiaxin, with 92 villager groups.

Gaotuo town belongs to temperate continental monsoon climate, which is characterized by four distinct seasons and hot and rainy seasons. The annual average temperature is 7.1 ℃, the annual average precipitation is 700 mm, the daily maximum precipitation is 180 mm, the frost free period is 150 days, and the rainfall is mainly concentrated in July to August.

History and culture

In the Wei and Jin Dynasties, it was a highland surrounded by alluvial plains. After two migrations in the Ming Dynasty (1436-1449) and the Qing Dynasty (1644-1661), the Gao family first settled here, so it was called gaotuozi.
