Malan Street
Malan street, subordinate to Shahekou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, is located in the west of Shahekou District. It is connected with nanshahekou street in the south, Ganjingzi District in the West and Lijia street in the north, with a total area of 6.23 square kilometers.
In September 1954, the three neighborhood committees were merged into malanzi street. In 1958, Malan street and Hongqi commune implemented the integration of government and society, which was assigned to Hongqi commune and Malan operation area was established. In August 1962, the government and society separated and Malan branch was established. In August 1980, it was renamed Malan street. In 2019, Xinggong Street will be split, and Daqing community, Xishan community, Hongfa community and Hengyuan community of Xinggong Street will be merged with Malan street to form a new Malan street. In 2019, Malan street has a population of 102500. As of June 2020, Malan street has jurisdiction over 14 communities and its sub district office is located at 876c, Huanghe Road.
In 2011, the total revenue of Malan street was 68.85 million yuan, an increase of 24% over the previous year.
Historical evolution
In 1905, after the Russo Japanese War, Malan area was occupied by Japanese invaders. At that time, it belonged to zhangsuo West Mountain Club in Shahekou, Dongzhou Hall of the puppet pass.
In 1946, Dalian county government was established, with seven administrative districts, which belong to Xishan District.
In 1950, Dalian county was abolished and malanzifang, Beidian and Xishan were merged into malanzifang, belonging to Shahekou District.
In June 1953, Malan, Xishan and beidianzi were transformed into residents' committees, which belonged to Shahekou District. The agricultural sector established primary agricultural cooperatives.

In 2019, Xinggong Street will be split, and Daqing community, Xishan community, Hongfa community and Hengyuan community of Xinggong Street will be merged with Malan street to form a new Malan street.

In the Tang Dynasty, Xue Li once tied horses here during his eastern expedition to Koguryo. At the old Dujia slope (north of the trackless garage of today's Liaoning Normal University), there is a piece of Shangma stone with the mark of horse's hoof, which is called Shangma and dismounted at the Weitai bridge. The area is defined and shaped like a fence. Therefore, the nearby village is named malanzi, later called malanzi.
