Xinxing town is located in the north suburb of Yancheng City, Chuanchang River, directly connected with the urban area. It is one of the satellite market towns in the urban area. Xinxing Town, a big salt boiling town in ancient times, was named Xinxing town because it was established later than Liuzhuang farm, Baiju farm and Wuyou farm. It was called Xinxing town in Ming Dynasty.
Historical evolution
From 758 to Song Dynasty, Xinxing was one of the nine salt farms supervised by Yancheng. Xinxing is named Xinxing because its establishment is later than the nearby Liuzhuang, Baiju and Wuyou, and its prosperity exceeds the above. In Ming Dynasty, there was a department of salt division, which was called Xinxing town because of its prosperous salt industry and commerce. Chuanchang River and Tongyu river run through the north and south, and 204 National Highway, Yanjing Nanjing Expressway and Xinchang railway crisscross. The north railway passenger station, freight station, tongyuhe harbor, national grain depot, means of production company warehouse, oil depot of Petroleum Company, national cotton reserve warehouse, 220kV substation and other units are located in the town.
Honors
On July 29, 2020, Xinxing town was named as national health township (county) in 2017-2019 cycle by National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
