In Qing Dynasty, Chenxiang Street belonged to Chengde County.
In 1913, it belonged to Shenyang County.
In 1948, Shenyang was a suburb of Shenyang after liberation.
On September 20, 1958, Chen Xiangtun commune was established.
In November 1981, Chen Xiangtun Street (coexisting with Chen Xiangtun commune) was established.
In 1983, Chen Xiangtun commune was transformed into a township.
