Bayanhushusumu is located in the east of Xilinguole League, connecting Chifeng City in the South and Xilinhot City in the West. The total area is 3823.31 square kilometers. The total population is 6588 (2017).

General situation of Bayan Hushu Sumu

Bayanhushusumu uzhumuqin grassland is a typical area of Xilinguole grassland, one of the four grasslands in the world. Grassland style is well preserved. It is the only area that collects nine types of grassland in Inner Mongolia. It is also the most gorgeous and magnificent area in northern China. It is known as "Paradise Grassland". Here, the grass is like a sea, the herds are like clouds, the yurts are like buckles, and the rivers are flowing with silver. The scenic spots under its jurisdiction include "Mongolian hot" which integrates Mongolian folk culture of clothing, food, housing and transportation; there are "nomadic tribes" which reproduce the life landscape of nomadic people in ancient grassland; and there are "forest grassland ecological areas" which display the characteristics of the transition zone from forest grassland to meadow grassland. Wuzhumuqin grassland is the most representative of typical temperate grassland in China, and it is also the best preserved natural pasture in Xilinguole grassland, known as "caodianzi". Wuzhumuqin was originally the name of a nomadic tribe in the area of Lushan in Altay Mountains of Outer Mongolia. It is said that the people of Wuzhumuqin originally lived in a place called wuzhumu mountain, which is full of grapes. "Wuzhumuqin" means grape in Mongolian, and "Qin" means "the person who has or picks grapes" in Mongolian, so "Wuzhumuqin" is the person of Lushan in Mongolian.

History of Bayan Hushu Sumu

Wuzhumuqin horse has a long history. It is famous for its symmetrical shape, good endurance, strong running ability and fast speed. It is said that Cao Cao once rode this horse in the Three Kingdoms period. The famous guard of Genghis Khan, the army of fear of Xue, was on this horse for thousands of miles. Wuzhumuqin horse, also known as Houshan horse, was chosen by the emperor of Qing Dynasty for his horse and cavalry. Therefore, Wuzhumuqin herdsmen here are very good at raising and training horses.

Development of Bayanhushu Sumu

Wuzhumuqin fat tailed sheep is named for its fat and heavy tail. This kind of sheep has strong fat grasping ability, delicious meat, fat but not greasy. It is a valuable mutton sheep resource in China, and has been awarded the title of "green food" by the national green food development center. In addition to the above characteristics, the unique feature of Ujimqin sheep is that it has one more rib than other sheep. Wuzhumuqin fat tailed sheep weighs 56 kg, Jieyang weighs 100 kg, and the heaviest is 130 kg. It can be said that it is the best one in the sheep family and the ideal mount for grassland urchins.
