Jiefang Road is 5110 meters long, connecting Sanya bridge with Yuya Avenue in the East and lizhigou intersection in the West. It is a main road running through the center of Sanya City.

The road was first built in 1942. Before May 1983, it was only 8 meters wide. It has a cement pavement structure, mixed traffic of people and vehicles, and the road is crowded. From June 1983 to 1989, Sanya Municipal government invested more than 14.5 million yuan to expand Jiefang Road. The street project was undertaken by Shenyang Municipal Engineering Company. Meanwhile, facilities such as communication, sewage discharge, water supply, power supply, greening and street lighting were constructed. The whole road is divided into four sections: Jiefang No.1 road is 770m long, from the north end of Sanya to the intersection of Yuejin Road, with a width of 25m. After 1989, it was built into a three slab Road, with a main lane of 14m (22cm thick asphalt pavement). On both sides of the main lane, there are flower pools with a width of 1m. On the outside of the flower pools on both sides, there is a slow lane with a width of 2m (22cm thick asphalt pavement). According to the slow lane, there is a pedestrian road with a width of 4m Pavement, cement precast block. Jiefang No.2 road is 1160m long and 25m wide from Yuejin Road intersection to Xinfeng Road intersection. It has been expanded into a three plate road since 1989. The main lane is 14m (22cm thick asphalt pavement). On both sides of the main lane are flower pools with 1m width. On the outside of each flower pool, there is a slow lane with 2m width (22cm thick asphalt pavement). A sidewalk with 4m width is built along the slow lane and paved with cement Prefabricated block. Jiefang No.3 road is 1620m long and 30m wide from Xinfeng road to Yuechuan Dukou road. Jiefang 4th road is 1560m long, from Yuechuan Dukou road to the intersection leading to lizhigou Town, with a width of 40m.
