Historical evolution

Jiefang Road, whose name implies the liberation of Dalian, was built in 1899, with a length of 6.5 kilometers and a width of 40.6 meters. It is one of the main roads in the central city. In 2005, Dalian City widened the north section of Taoyuan Street to qingniwa bridge from four lanes to six lanes, which achieved good results. However, with the completion of a number of large residential areas in the adjacent Zhongnan road and Laohutan area, the traffic volume of Jiefang Road doubled. Therefore, the municipal government will take the reconstruction and expansion of Jiefang Road as a key project in 2010. in 2017, Jiefang Road ushered in the construction of Dalian Metro Line 5.

Reconstruction and expansion project

The South Road widening project from Xiuyue street to Laohutan Ocean Park was completed a little later than the north because the total amount of the project was slightly larger than the north, and affected by continuous rain and other factors in the early stage. According to Wang Guobin, the project manager of the Municipal Engineering Corporation of the construction party, during the construction of Jiefang Road, the rainwater infiltration system is specially designed and buried, which can effectively replenish the groundwater and prevent the seawater from pouring back, which is very suitable for the use of rainwater to restore the underground ecology. Wutong, with 3 original sites and trees on the 11 sides of the new Jiefang Road car park, the road safety island was designed. It not only avoided the transplant of hundreds of large trees, but also avoided the mixture of people and cars after the bus came into the parking lot.
