Jiefang Road

The road located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, was built in 1955. Because the north of the city is the earliest liberated area of Taiyuan, it is named Jiefang Road.

Jiefang Road is built on the basis of the original dananmen street, Nanshi street, huoniushi street, Mashi street, normal street, fangshanfu street, xiaocang lane, dabeimen street, Tumen street outside dabeimen and shangbeiguan street. It is one of the north-south trunk roads in the city.

On September 30, 2020, the reconstruction of Jiefang Road in Taiyuan city was completed and opened to traffic.

It was built in 1955 and named Jiefang Road because the north of the city was the earliest liberated area in Taiyuan. Later, it extends southward to the gymnasium and merges Da Nanguan street and Xiao Nanguan street, which is called Jiefang South Road.

This road runs through the small commodity wholesale market, provincial experimental middle school, Zhonglou street, dananmen, Yingze Park, the first hospital of Shanyi University, gymnasium and other important nodes. It is an important urban trunk road.

Road reconstruction

On April 26, 2016, the reporter learned from Taiyuan construction project bidding management office that the reconstruction project of Jiefang Road has entered the supervision bidding stage. The reconstruction scope is from Yingze street to huayuanhou South Street, and the total investment of the project is about 1 billion yuan.

According to the announcement, Jiefang Road reconstruction project is about 5.5km long and 50m wide. The construction contents include bridges, roads, rainwater and sewage, power, lighting and other projects.

On September 30, 2020, the reconstruction of Jiefang Road in Taiyuan city was completed and opened to traffic.
