Langan Township

Old township name, see Langan town. Yuanlangan township is a township under the jurisdiction of Shufu County, Kashgar City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Located 17 kilometers west of Kashi City, 32 kilometers away from Shufu County, it has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages (farms) and 60 villager groups, with a total population of 15100 people. The existing cultivated land area is 31774.7 mu. It is a suburban town with melon, vegetable and animal husbandry as the leading industries.

In 2012, Langan township was abolished and Langan town was established (new policy Letter No. 165).

Economic overview

Since 2011, Langan township has been relying on industrial operation, focusing on technology promotion and variety improvement, developing and expanding melon and vegetable, animal husbandry, forestry and fruit industry, and promoting the coordinated development of grain, economy and grass planting structure. In 2003, the total economic income of the township reached 32.874 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1523 yuan. At the end of the year, 65000 livestock were on hand, with an area of 19000 Mu and 30 fruit trees per capita. At present, there are 1 professional village and 10 professional groups, 16 large livestock households and 252 professional households, and 3 professional villages and 10 professional groups in the township. In recent years, the township vigorously promote the application of greenhouse, small arch shed and double film planting technology, "balustrade melon" obvious economic benefits; accelerate the construction of rural infrastructure, transportation, communication, water supply, power supply and other infrastructure conditions have been significantly improved.
In the future, based on the local geographical and resource advantages, Langan township will strengthen the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, vigorously develop animal husbandry and "balustrade melon" and other characteristic economy, accelerate the cultivation of leading enterprises in processing, transportation and marketing of agricultural and sideline products, and build a production base of melon, fruit, livestock and vegetable products for Kashgar and even surrounding areas.
