The town of Wu Ding River, belonging to the the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Erdos City, is located in the southwest of the county of Shaanxi, and is adjacent to the Thunder Dragon Bay Township in Hengshan County, Yulin province. It is bordered by the Hongdun Town, Jingbian County, Yulin Province, and is connected to Etuokeqianqi City Town, north of Desum, and 1353.4 square kilometers of area. As of 2018, the registered residence population is 36157.

In 2005, Henan Township and nalinhe town merged into Wudinghe town. As of June 2020, Wudinghe town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 14 administrative villages.
