Baima town is subordinate to Miyi County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the East and north of the county, covering an area of 196.19 square kilometers, with a total population of 30465 (2017). There are eight ethnic groups: Han, Yi, Hui, Dai, Bai, Susu, Tujia and Mongolia, and the ethnic minorities account for 9.9% of the total population. Baima town is the central town of the northern group of the urban development system in Miyi County and an important logistics distribution center in the northern part of Panzhihua City. It is a famous town with multi-ethnic characteristics and culture in Panxi.

Baima town has a long history and pleasant scenery. Longtan Karst Cave Scenic Spot, mosque in Ming and Qing Dynasties, hejiaba ancient cultural site, Zixia cave, Dashi tomb and other historical and cultural relics together constitute the precious intangible cultural heritage in the town. Relying on rich and unique cultural tourism resources, Baima town has built characteristic agricultural bases such as yellow grass cherry, mango and loquat, and agricultural tourism industries such as modern agricultural park with high standards. It has built agricultural museums and rural tourism resort hotels, and has broad prospects for the development of rural tourism industry integrating sightseeing, leisure and health.

Environmental characteristics

The highest altitude is 2983 meters and the lowest altitude is 1100 meters; the cultivated area is 1718 hectares. With abundant light and rainfall, it has unique agricultural ecological and biological resources and rich mineral resources in the south subtropical zone. There are national AA scenic spot - Ninghua Longtan cave in the town. There are Tianba Hui mosque built in the Ming Dynasty and hejiabazi, an ancient cultural site formed in the Neolithic period. There are two provincial cultural relics protection units; Chengdu Kunming railway runs across the north and south, Qinggang railway station is set up, Xipan expressway has entrances and exits in the town; there are new industrial bases, miaozigou Ponkan base, Huangcao cherry base, Sanping loquat base, Weilong nectarine base, rich in vanadium titanium magnetite and granite.

The town has a population of 3600, with a planned area of 3.4 square kilometers and a built-up area of 1.6 square kilometers. There are 2207 fixed phones and 3540 mobile phones installed in the town, and the rate of cable TV entering households is 16.6%. There are 2 water supply stations with daily water supply of 360 tons. The market covers an area of 17000 square meters, with a daily turnover of 120000 yuan and an average of 1900 people. The construction of small towns has begun to take shape and has great potential for development.

Baima town will speed up the coordinated development of regional industry, the overall development with surrounding towns, and the internal balanced development of Baima town in accordance with the development idea of "new type of industry, agricultural modernization, characteristic urbanization, and urban-rural ecology", so as to create a new industrial demonstration town of Miyi and a pilot area for overall urban-rural development.

On July 29, 2020, it was named "2017-2019 cycle National Health township" by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
