Zhongxing town is located in the southwest of Chengmai County, in the upper reaches of Nandu River, adjacent to Jinjiang River in the north, connecting Jiale and Wenru across Nandu River in the East, Renxing in the south, Lingao County of Danzhou City in the west, about 27 kilometers away from Jinjiang River, with a total land area of 182.43 square kilometers. With a total population of 37951, it has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages (communities) and one town run farm. There are 117 natural villages. There are 2 middle schools, 2 central primary schools, 2 public kindergartens and 2 health centers. On January 16, 2010, Zhongxing town was rated as China's famous ecological and cultural town by the state. The land type is mostly hilly land, and its lithology is composed of granite, sand shale, red sandstone, etc. the soil is mostly red laterite developed by granite.

Zhongxing town is located in the hilly forest zone, with a monsoon tropical climate. The annual average temperature is 24.2 ℃, and the annual rainfall is 1880-2000mm. It has abundant rainfall and is like spring all the year round. The whole town has 284899.5mu, with a forest coverage rate of 72%.
