Xinqiao Town

Xinqiao Town is located in the northeast of Mianyang Science and technology city and the middle reaches of Furong river. It is a shallow hill landform, 9 km away from the center of the city. It borders Weicheng town in the East, Chenkang town in the south, Youxian street in the West and Shima town in the north. Xinqiao Town, covering an area of 89.75 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 14 villages and 4 community neighborhood committees, with a total population of 44300 people. The natural environment of the town is beautiful, with flat dams and shallow hills connected, mountains and rivers connected, and Furong river passes through the town from north to south. National Highway 108 runs through the north and south, Mianzi high-grade highway lies in the East and West, convenient and fast transportation, communication, radio and television network covers the whole town.

On December 25, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Mianyang City (cfzm [2019] No. 27): Jiezi town and Yunfeng town were cancelled, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Xinqiao Town, and the people's Government of Xinqiao Town was stationed at No. 2, east section of Hongqiao Road.

Evolution of organizational system

Xinqiao Town was originally a Xinqiao District Office under the jurisdiction of one town and four townships. In 1993, in the process of withdrawing districts and merging townships into towns, the former Xinqiao District Office was abolished. In December 1997, the people's Government of Xinqiao Town was formally established. On December 26, 2019, submitted by Mianyang Municipal People's government and approved by Sichuan Provincial People's government, Jiezi town and Yunfeng town were cancelled and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Xinqiao Town. Xinqiao Town People's government was stationed at No. 2, east section of Hongqiao Road.

Xinqiao Town governs 4 residents' committees of Xinqiao community, Zhuangzi community, Yunfeng community and Fuxing community, 14 administrative villages of Shimiao village, Yuquan village, Shengli village, Gaoyi village, Wangjiaba village, Shuanghe village, Tonghua village, Tongfu village, Hongxing Village, Xinmin village, Shengqi village, Bailong village, Xinlong village and Xingquan village, and 82 villagers' groups.
