Xingren town

Xingren town is located in the south of Shapotou District, 75 kilometers away from Haicheng Town. It has jurisdiction over Xingren neighborhood committee and 11 administrative villages including tuozhaike, Xingren, Haoji, Xili, Gaozhuang, Wangtuan, Dongtan, Tuanjie, Taihe, Xingsheng and Chuanyu.

Historical evolution

Xingren district was set up in the Republic of China, Xingren commune was changed in 1958, and township was changed in 1984. The town was built in 1994. In 1997, it covered an area of 290.1 square kilometers and had a population of 19000. In 2008, with the consent of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region government, Xingren town of Haiyuan county was put under the jurisdiction of Shapotou District of Zhongwei city. It was officially handed over on February 18.

In recent years, due to the large-scale cultivation of selenium sand melon, Xingren has become the distribution center of selenium sand melon, radiating to Shapotou, Zhongning County, Tongxin county and Jingyuan County of Gansu Province, and the agriculture and service industry has made great progress. Agriculture is the most developed, followed by service industry, and industry is the last. Export products are mainly selenium sand melon, wolfberry. The per capita GDP is about 20000.
