Qianjin town is located in the east gate of Qionglai, 5 km away from the urban area. The town government is located at 115 Qianxin street, Qianjin town. The town covers an area of 25.67 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 5 administrative villages, 2 communities (agricultural communities), 91 villager groups, with a total population of 14744 (2017); "Chengwenqiong expressway" and "xinqiong road" run through. The town has a flat terrain, rich water resources and developed transportation. Every village has access to cement roads, and the infrastructure of water, electricity, natural gas, optical fiber, communication and so on is perfect. Qianjin Town, also known as Dongyue Town, has a long history because of its Dongyue Temple. In 1911, the administrative division of Qianjin town was established by the township League. In 1937, the joint guarantee system was established, namely Zhonghe Township, Nanjiang Township and Dongyue town. The township was established from 1914 to 1949, and Zhonghe and Nanjiang became Dongyue town. In 1958, the people's commune was established. In 1981, it was changed into Qianjin township. In 1992, it was changed into Qianjin town.
