The Qing Dynasty belongs to Hulan city with blue flag. In 1905, it was assigned to Xixiang District of Lanxi County. The Republic of China belongs to the four guarantees. After the fall of Northeast China, Xinxing village was set up. In 1949, it belonged to the Sixth District. In April 1956, Xinghuo township was established. In March 1958, Jianguo township was merged into Xinghuo township; in September of the same year, the township was transformed into a commune. In March 1959, it was transferred to Jiamusi city.

In 1963, Jianguo commune emerged.

In August 1964, it was transferred to Huachuan County.

In May 1984, it was changed to Xinghuo Korean nationality township.
