Established in July 2005, Wuxing community is located in the southwest of Liuheng Island, Liuheng Development Zone, Putuo District, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province.

Community profile

It is adjacent to Shuangtang and Jiaotou communities in the East, sea area in the south, Fudu island across Shuangyu port in the West and Longshan community in the north, with a total area of 17.09 square kilometers. Under the jurisdiction of Shanxi, Songshan, Jishi, Wuxing, Li'ao, Wanjin, xiaoguoju, zhangqigang, Changtu nine administrative villages. There are 2662 households and 9288 people in the community. There are 315 party members, 10 party branches, 97 party members and 957 people. There are 272 villagers' representatives and 1650 people over 60 years old. At present, there are 40 pairs of poor households in the community, including 8 pairs of municipal units, 15 pairs of district units, 13 pairs of town units, 2 pairs of community units and 2 pairs of town leaders. At the beginning of 2006, two poverty-stricken families have been lifted out of poverty in pairs. The whole community included 70 households with subsistence allowances and 18 households with difficulties). There are 11 district level party members with difficulties and 19 town level party members with difficulties. A total of 99 people are guaranteed a minimum living standard, including 16 in the town homes for the aged. According to the survey, there are 155 low-income families with a total of 379 people. The community uses the scientific development concept to lead the overall situation, actively promote the industrial management, vigorously develop the secondary and tertiary industries, constantly expand the economy, and do everything possible to increase the income of residents. According to the goal of "development of production, affluence of life, civilization of rural style, tidiness of village appearance and democratic management", we should make every effort to purify and beautify the environment, strengthen the construction of civilization, further pay attention to the construction of infrastructure and the development of social undertakings, and build a harmonious and prosperous new community.

Community work

Community production is mainly based on agriculture, fishing and breeding. There are 13 small and medium-sized enterprises, with zhangqigang shipyard and Jinrun Petrochemical Company as key backbone enterprises. The community has a total cultivated area of more than 4244 mu, including 2098 mu of paddy field, 1321 mu of dry land and 536 mu of mountainous area. In 1986, it was awarded the Golden Eagle Award of "famous, special and excellent new products" by Zhejiang provincial government. In 1991, it was listed as one of the "eight Zhejiang famous teas". In 1998, it was awarded the title of "famous tea of Chinese culture" at China International Tea Culture Expo. It has a breeding area of 2800 mu (including freshwater pond), mainly breeding Portunus, prawn, shellfish, mud snail, etc.; 51 fishing boats (including 5 small shrimp towing boats). Lingang Petrochemical block, one of the four major industries planned for the whole island, xiaoguoju reclamation project is located in Wuxing community. 6200 Mu has been reclaimed in the first phase and 7800 Mu will be reclaimed in the second phase, with a total area of 41 square kilometers. Liuheng Li'ao folk custom museum, a cultural highlight of five-star community, is located in the beautiful Li'ao Ecological Village Leisure Park. It was founded in March 2004. The museum has a collection of Zhoushan Fishery, agriculture and industrial culture related objects, such as all kinds of costumes worn by fishermen and peasants in the old society, used production and living utensils, five craftsman's tools, the "Qingming River map" in the late Northern Song Dynasty, and various flower bottles and coins in the period from Shunzhi to the present. There are more than 500 kinds of exhibits, showing the local conditions and customs of Liuheng.
