Xing'an Township
Xing'an township is under the jurisdiction of Xian County, Heilongjiang Province. Located in the north of the county, the north end is connected with Huachuan County, and the west is adjacent to Bijiashan farm. The township government is 19 kilometers away from the county seat. Xing'an township is hilly and plain area, Hadami river flows through the township. With a total area of 227 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 107000 mu, the township is one of the grain producing areas in the county. The commodity grain sold in 1980 ranked first in the county. It is also an advanced unit of afforestation and has been praised by the Ministry of forestry and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League.
Historical evolution
Xing'an Township, formerly known as Xing'an town. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Fifth District of Fujin county. From the early 1920s, it gradually formed a small market town, so it was called Xing'an town. In the late period of northeast occupied by Japanese, Xing'an village was set up. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, in June 1946, it was transferred to Jixian County and set up Xing'an district. In 1950, it was changed into the fourth district. In March 1956, Xing'an township was set up. In the autumn of 1958, it was renamed Xing'an people's commune. Soon after, Xing'an commune was divided into two parts, one was established as Hongxing commune, the other was incorporated into Bijiashan farm. In April 1964, the Red Star commune was abolished and the original farm was merged to restore the Xing'an commune. It was changed to Xing'an Township in 1984.
