Fengle town

Fengle town is located in the southeast of Feixi County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, adjacent to Sanhe ancient town in the East, across the river from Shucheng County, 40 km away from the city and 19 km away from the county. Shangsan highway, Yanfeng highway and Hejiu railway run through it. Fengle river flows into the Yangtze River through Chaohu Lake.

Fengle town, with an area of 115 square kilometers and a population of 45726 (2017), governs 21 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood committees. It is the down distribution center of Anhui Province.

In November 2017, fengle town was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

Historical evolution

Fengle river was originally named fengluo River and Fengli river. It's said that once upon a time, it was a barren beach. One day, a pair of Phoenix flew down here and dropped a brilliant feather, which was picked up by the Liu brothers and sold to a rich businessman. Later, the Liu brothers set out to collect feathers here. Soon after, the business operators gathered and formed a town. There is an elegant Confucian who wrote "fengluo" in regular script as the name of the town. It is also said that the river water irrigates the fields widely, and "the year depends on abundance to bring happiness to the people". Therefore, the two words "abundance" and "happiness" are used to name the river "fengle River", and the town is named after the river.

After liberation, it first belonged to Sanhe District, and then fengle district; it was called fengle town in 1949, and then it was changed several times. In the spring of 1992, it was withdrawn from the district and merged with Chengdian Township, and it was still called fengle town.

Local people

Mr. Zhang Zhizhong, a famous senior patriotic general of the Kuomintang, whose ancestral home is hongjiatuan in Chaoxian County, was born in fengle town in 1891. He spent his childhood and youth here and worked as an apprentice in a grocery store in fengle river. In the winter of 1933, Zeng and his relatives returned to visit his hometown.

Honors

In June 2020, it was awarded the title of "the fifth civilized village in Anhui Province".

On June 30, 2020, it will be included in the list of provincial rural governance pilot demonstration towns in Anhui Province.
