Yonghe Town

Yonghe Town, belonging to Ji'an County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the middle of Ji'an County, with a permanent population of 25410 (2017). Yonghe town is located on the West Bank of the middle reaches of Ganjiang River, the South Bank of Heshui River, Ganjiang River in the East, Fenghuang in the south, Dunhou in the west, and Jizhou district across the river in the north. It is 5km away from Ji'an City, 11km away from Ji'an County, and 3km away from the East District of Jinggangshan economic and Technological Development Zone. Yonghe town is a thousand year old town with rich cultural heritage and is the location of the famous Jizhou kiln.

On July 28, 2017, Yonghe town was selected as the second batch of small towns with Chinese characteristics.

Historical evolution

In the Tang, song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was subordinate to Rulin township (formerly known as Wenba township) in Luling County, with jurisdiction over the first, second, tenth, eleventh and twelfth capitals. In 1914, Luling county was changed into Ji'an County, and Yonghe was subordinate to Ji'an County. In 1938, Yonghe was divided into Yonghe Township and Baisha Township.
