Taidongxiang

Taidong Township, belonging to Yi'an County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northeast of Yi'an County, bordering on the ancient town of Keshan County in the East, facing Xinfa Township across the river in the south, Yi'an town in the West and Shangyou Township in the north, with a total administrative area of 172.15 square kilometers.

In the 12th year of the Republic of China (October 1923), Taidong commune was transformed into Taidong Township in February 1984. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Tai Dongxiang was 20074. In 2019, Taidong village governs 9 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Taidong village of Changxing village.

The main food crops in Taidong township are wheat, soybean, corn, sorghum, etc.; the main economic crops are beet, potato, flax and sunflower. In 2018, taidongxiang had 5 industrial enterprises and 14 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In the 12th year of the Republic of China (October 1923), it was put under the jurisdiction of Yi'an, belonging to the fourth district. In October 1929, it was assigned to the Second District of Keshan County. In March 1938, it was named Tuoli village. In the thirtieth year of the Republic of China (September 1941), it was assigned to Yi'an county. In the 35th year of the Republic of China (January 1946), Taidong district was established.

In December 1950, it was renamed the second district.

In May 1955, it was renamed Taidong district.

In February 1956, Taidong District fell to Taidong township.

In September 1958, Taidong township was transformed into Taidong commune.

In February 1984, Taidong commune was changed into Taidong township.

At the end of 2011, there were 8 administrative villages in Changxing, Lianhe, Xinmin, Shuijin, Minyu, Jubao, Qianjin and hexang.

In 2019, Taidong countryside governs nine administrative villages: Changxing village, Lianhe village, Yongjin village, Minyu village, Jubao village, Hexiang village, Xinmin village, Qianjin village and Yanjiang village. Taidongxiang people's government is located in taidongtun, Changxing village.

The terrain of Taidong township is low in the South and high in the north. The north part of Taidong township is mostly alluvial proluvial basin, belonging to carbonate chernozem with rolling hills; the soil alkalization of Hetao area in the South belongs to meadow soil and flood soil.

Taidong township has three rivers: Taixi River, changxinggou River and aolonggouzi River, all of which flow from north to South and flow into Wuyuer River, with a drainage area of 42.3 square kilometers.

The underground mineral deposits in taidongxiang mainly include quartz sand, coal, brick clay, fluvial mine, yellow sand, etc. among them, lignite is distributed in the consolidation village in the northwest, brick clay is distributed in Shanwan village, fluvial mine is distributed in Juhe village in the southwest, and yellow sand is distributed in Changxing, Lianhe, Shuijin, etc. in the East.

Name and origin

Yian county was originally named Qin'an County, and Taidong township is located in the east of Taian County, so it is called Taidong Township, which was later abbreviated as Taidong township.
