Hedong town

Hedong town is located in the eastern half of Guazhou County, bordering Sandaogou town in the East, bulongji Township in the west, yaozhanzi Township immigration base in the South and MAZONGSHAN town in Subei County in the north. The transportation between towns is convenient. Lanzhou Xinjiang Railway, 312 National Highway and 266 highway run through the whole area. The terrain is broad, the soil is fertile, the light and heat are sufficient, and the water resources are rich. The total land area is 879.72 square kilometers. There are 5 administrative villages and 39 villager groups in the town, with a total population of 6095 (2017), and a cultivated area of 36315 mu. In October 2015, the township was removed to build a town.

Hedong town has 7435 mu of fast-growing poplar intercropping area, 13360 mu of Alfalfa based forage area and 1020 mu of hops area. Five breeding sheep farms with 1000 sheep and one cattle farm with 100 cattle have been built, driving the development of animal husbandry of 1556 households in the township. The number of sheep raised was 37000, of which 6240 were mainly small tailed Han sheep. The number of cattle raised was 1248. It covers an area of 1200 mu for the development of licorice, 2040 mu for the development of black honey seedless watermelon and Guazhou series brandy melon, and has established a Qiaowan melon and fruit trading market. Introduce funds to build a hops processing plant. In 2002, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 68 million yuan; the profit of township enterprises was 1.2 million yuan; the total income of village collective economy was 1.79 million yuan; the financial income was 2.65 million yuan; the per capita net income of farmers was 3574 yuan.
