Yonghe township is under the jurisdiction of Jidong county. It is located in the southwest of the county, adjacent to Jixi City in the West. The township government is 12 kilometers away from the county seat. Yonghe township is named after Yonghe village.
Yonghe village, formerly known as "Li Dafang", was renamed "Yongping" after the fall of Northeast China. In 1945, after the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese War, it was renamed "Yonghe", which means "eternal peace", under the jurisdiction of Jining county. In July 1949, Jining county was changed into Jixi County, which was subordinate to Pingyang Town, and later to the seventh district. In May 1956, Yonghe township was established. In January 1957, it was under the jurisdiction of Mishan county. In August of the same year, new urban and rural areas were merged into Yonghe township. In January 1958, Chang'an township was merged into Yonghe Township, which was renamed Yonghe people's commune in August of the same year. In January 1965, it was officially under the jurisdiction of Jidong county. In April 1984, it was changed to Yonghe township. the whole territory of Yonghe township is hilly and hilly, and DASHITOU river flows through the whole territory. The township covers a total area of 451 square kilometers, with a large area of forest and two state-owned forest farms. Mountain products are very rich. The cultivated area is 90000 mu, mainly corn and soybean. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 13 million yuan. The township has jurisdiction over 16 villages including Yonghe, Gongping, Xinhe, Yongqing, Yongsheng, Xinle, ranch, Lin'an, Chang'an, De'an, Baoan, Xin'an, Dong'an, Dongjin, Heping and he'an. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 17000, of which Korean, Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 2%. The township government is located in Yonghe village.
