Longjiao Township

Longjiao township is located 26 kilometers north of Shilou County, bordering Jiaokou county and Zhongyang County. The township covers an area of 159.61 square kilometers, with 13 administrative villages, 49 natural villages, 3497 households and 7640 people (2017). There are 33923 mu of cultivated land and 32258 mu of ecological forest land, including 22252 mu of converted farmland to forest area. There are more than 31000 mu of walnut forest, including more than 15000 mu of fruit bearing area. In 2017, walnut production reached 6 million jin, and walnut industry is the leading industry in the township. In 2017, the per capita net income of farmers was 3100 yuan.

There are 10 Neolithic sites, 6 ancient tombs, 17 ancient buildings, 2 grottoes and 2 modern representative buildings in Longjiao township. According to the official edition of Shilou county annals of Qing Dynasty, huangyunjixue, one of the eight old scenes of Shilou, is located in Fengwei mountain, Wangjiagou village, Longjiao township. At present, Longjiao has many landscapes, such as chessboard immortal trail, huangyunshuxiu, qiyuling cave, cave dragon road, Dongtai fengdun, Liu's house, cliff stone carving, Dongyue Temple, Millennium ancient wood and so on.

Longjiao underground is rich in coal, iron ore, quartz and other mineral resources; there are pine, cypress, Tilia, birch, elm, toon, apricot, camel pear and other wild plants in the eastern forest region; there are musk deer, yellow waist, brown eared pheasant, leopard and other wild animals; there are ginseng, Atractylodes lancea, grass, Coptis and other traditional Chinese medicine

Longjiao township of Shilou county is adjacent to shikouzi mountain of Jiaokou County in the East, Lingquan town and peijiagou town of Shilou County in the west, Nuanquan town of Zhongyang County in the north and Luocun town of Shilou County in the south, 28 km away from the county. With a total area of 159.61 square kilometers, it governs 14 administrative villages and 49 natural villages, with a total of 2232 farmers, 56175 mu of cultivated land, 2225 mu of converted farmland to forest, 9320 mu of walnut forest. There are 26 natural villages with water and 38 villages with electricity in the whole Township, and 616 fixed line telephones are installed. In 2008, the grain output of the township was 1992 tons, and the per capita net income was 1112 yuan.
