Nanping Town

Nanping town is subordinate to Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. It is the South Gate of Huaibei City. It is known as "huinanxiong town". It is located in the southeast of Suixi County, connecting Qixian town and Taoyuan town of Yongqiao District of Suzhou City in the East, shuangduiji town and Xutuan town of Mengcheng County in the south, Suntuan town and Wugou town in the west, and Suzhou City in the north.

Nanping town has a total area of 225.29 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 20 administrative villages, with a total population of 101877 (2017); in 2014, the town achieved a GDP of 1.18 billion yuan, an increase of 18.8% compared with 2013.

Nanping town is a subtropical monsoon climate, the territory is all plain, flat terrain, has been "Anhui Province farmers fitness activities advanced township" and other honorary titles.

Historical evolution

In the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Sishui county and was under the jurisdiction of Qi city. In the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was called Yongping. Yongping County was established in the northern and Southern Dynasties. In the fourth year of Yuanhe reign of emperor Xianzong of Tang Dynasty, Suzhou was established under the jurisdiction of Qi county of Suzhou. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Yongping was changed to Nanping, which means "Pingdi in the south of Suzhou". The Yuan Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Qi Township in Xuzhou. The Ming Dynasty belongs to Suzhou, Fengyang Prefecture. The Qing Dynasty belonged to Suzhou, Jiangnan province. in the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Suzhou was changed to Suxian, and Nanping Anhui Province was under the jurisdiction of Suxian. In 1950, Suxi county was separated from Suxian county and later changed to Suixi County, belonging to Nanping Township under the jurisdiction of shuangdui District of Suixi County. Nanping people's commune was established in 1958. In December 1961, Nanping district was established, with jurisdiction over seven communes, namely Nanping, shuangdui, Sanhe, Chenji, Banpu, Lugou and Luoji. In 1969, Nanping district was removed and Nanping commune was established. In December 1980, Nanping district was merged into shuangdui district and became Nanping commune under the jurisdiction of the district. Nanping district was restored in April 1983. In 1986, Nanping town was merged. in 1992, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and the Nanping town system was retained. In 1999, Nanping town was approved as a provincial "comprehensive reform pilot town" and a sub County town of Suixi County. In 2004, Renji town was merged into Nanping town. in 2010, Zhongyang village of Nanping town was merged into Renji village.
