Yanminghu Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Dunhua City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is located in the northeast of Dunhua City, at the junction of Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province. It borders Jingpo Township, Ning'an City, Heilongjiang Province with xiaogouling in the East, Dashitou town in the south, Guandi town and qinggouzi town in the west, and Ermu town in the northwest, with an administrative area of 154.47 square kilometers.

In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden reclamation paddock; in July 2004, it was renamed Yanminghu town. By the end of 2018, 10256 people registered residence in Yan Ming Hu town. As of June 2020, Yanminghu town has one community and 12 administrative villages.

History of construction

In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden paddock.

In 1935, it was called dashanzizi village, belonging to Guandi village of Ermu county.

In 1941, it was assigned to Dunhua county.

In September 1946, dashanzizi village was changed.

In 1956, it was changed to dashanzizi township.

In 1958, dashanzizi township was transformed into a commune.

In 1983, dashanzizi commune was transformed into a township.

In April 1987, dashanzizi township was transformed into a town.

In July 2004, it was renamed Yanminghu town.

In 2011, Yanminghu town has 12 administrative villages: Dashan, Dagou, Donggou, Xiaoshan, Yaodian, Yangmu, Hudong, Hubei, Tara, Shaoguo, Qianjin, Shengli, and 36 villager groups.

As of June 2020, Yanminghu town has one community and 12 administrative villages: Jiangbei community, dashanzizi village, Dagou village, Xiaodonggou village, xiaoshanzuizi village, Yaodian village, yangmuzizi village, Hudong village, Hubei village, talazhan village, Qianjin village, zhangjiayao village and shaoguotun village. The town people's government is located in dashanzizi Village.

The highest peak of guangtu mountain is located in the north of the territory, with an altitude of 1327 meters; the lowest point is located at the exit of Mudanjiang River in xiaoshanzuizi village, with an altitude of 340 meters.

Affected by altitude and micro topography, there are many microclimate areas in the territory. The annual average temperature is 2.9 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 34.5 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 32 ℃. The annual average frost free period is 132 days. Yanminghu town belongs to Mudanjiang River Basin, with 17 rivers, including Mudanjiang River Basin area of 1186 square kilometers, accounting for 79%. Erzhan river basin covers an area of 312 square kilometers, accounting for 21%. There is one primary River, Mudanjiang, with a total length of 33 km. There are eight secondary rivers, including Tara River, erzhan River, Xihe River, Dagou River, Xiaogou River, six tertiary rivers, including zhudun River, and two tertiary rivers, including Xiaobeigou river. The largest river in the territory is Mudanjiang River, which enters from the west of dashanzizi village, crosses the whole territory from southwest to northeast, and flows into Jingpo Lake from the east of xiaoshanzuizi village. The river in the territory is 33 kilometers long, with a drainage area of 1186 square kilometers. The main tributaries are Tala River, Xihe River, Dagou River, Xiaogou River, etc.

The main natural disasters in Yanminghu town are gale, rainstorm and flood. Most of the floods occurred from July to August. The most serious one happened on July 30-31, 1991. Dunhua City suffered from a rare rainstorm, which caused the water level of the river to soar. The peak flow of Yanming Lake section of Mudanjiang River reached 1500 cubic meters per second.
